Tania León

Composer, conductor, social activist, cultural innovator, and educator Tania León joins us for a very special Masterclass on July 31 with co-hosts vocalist Helga Davis and composer and National Sawdust co-founder Paola Prestini. They’ll explore the maestro's array of influencing traditions and learn more about how she has incorporated her varied personal and political experiences into her work. This event will include a listening session of León's seminal 1999 work "Horizons”, as well as Hannah Ishizaki (violin) performing "Aurelia, In Memoriam" (1999) by the composer T.J. Anderson.
